Abstract The metaphor of the archipelago has informed ideas about Berlin's post‐war and post‐wall fractured urban landscape as well recent work on sexual minorities in city. In context landscape, image refers to green islands spontaneous vegetation sites left behind by bomb damage border infrastructure, while scholarship sexuality, it suggests a more dispersed distribution minority nightlife than traditional focus gayborhood. two meanings come together many electronic dance music clubs, which are located overgrown voids—or Brachen German—and form queer outside heteronormative grid.
